If you love apple pie but want a fun, handheld twist, these Apple Pie Egg Rolls are a must-try! Crispy on the outside, warm and cinnamon-spiced on the inside, they’re a perfect fall dessert or party treat. Serve them with caramel sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate indulgence.
Ingredients
- 2 large apples (peeled, cored, and diced)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for thickening)
- 8–10 egg roll wrappers
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Optional: powdered sugar or caramel sauce for serving
Instructions
- Prepare apple filling: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for 5–6 minutes, stirring often, until apples are tender. Sprinkle in flour and stir until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Assemble egg rolls: Lay out an egg roll wrapper with one corner pointing toward you (like a diamond). Place 2–3 tablespoons of apple filling in the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the edge with a little water. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
- Fry egg rolls: Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the egg rolls in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with caramel sauce or vanilla ice cream.
